Zone Substation ‘T’ Re-Built upgrades – 22/11kV
Power System Design has successfully completed the detailed secondary design and commissioning for Zone substation ‘T’ as part of the terminal station Re-Built project. Power System Design was awarded the contract to manufacture / fully configure and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) the protection and control panels.
The project involved the secondary design and refurbishment for an existing brown field 22/11kV substation as follows:
- Decommission 1 x 22/11kV power transformer bay;
- Decommission part of 11kV Switchboard;
- Establish new 22kV line protection scheme at SUB’T’ to interface to the new terminal station control building;
- Establish new 22kV line protection scheme at SUB’VR’ to interface to the new terminal station control building;
- New protection to be installed on existing equipment whilst maintaining supply to customers.
PSD were responsible for the supply of the following services/equipment:
Design
- Augment existing designs (for SUB’T’ & SUB’VR’);
- Design of new protection and control schemes (for SUB’T’ & SUB’VR’);;
- Settings, fault calculations and relay configurations;
- Commissioning procedures and outage planning.
Supply
- 2 x 22kV line protection schemes at SUB’T’;
- 2 x 22kV line protection schemes at SUB’VR’.
Testing / Commissioning
- Complete protection FAT/SAT testing;
- Complete commissioning.
