Mentone Zone Substation – 66/11kV
Power System Design has successfully completed the detailed primary/civil and secondary design for Mentone Zone substation. Power System Design was awarded the contract to design the protection and control panels.
The project involved the secondary design and refurbishment for an existing brown field 66/11kV substation as follows:
- 66kV bus upgrade;
- New 1 x 66kV Bus Tie circuit breaker bay;
- Establish a completely new 66/11kV protection and control system;
- New protection to be installed on existing equipment whilst maintaining supply to customers.
PSD were responsible for the supply of the following services/equipment:
Design
- Civil design work - plant foundations;
- Design of busbar system and Structural steel work;
- Design of protection and control systems;
- Settings, fault calculations and relay configurations;
- Design AC & DC auxiliary systems;
- Control cable schedules;
- Integrate to existing equipment;
- Commissioning procedures and outage planning.
Supply
- Station Local Alarm Panel;
- New Substation DC System.
