Caulfield Zone Substation – 66/11kV
Power System Design has successfully completed the detailed secondary design and commissioning for Caulfield Zone substation. Power System Design was awarded the contract to manufacture / fully configure and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) the protection and control and RTU panels.
The project involved the secondary design and refurbishment for an existing brown field 22/11kV substation as follows:
- New GIS with 2 x 66kV line exits; 2 x 66kV busses and 3 x 66kV breakers;
- 2 x 66/22kV 30MVA power transformer bays;
- Establish new 11kV buses and associated 11kV circuit breakers;
- Establish a completely new 66/11kV protection and control system.
PSD were responsible for the supply of the following services/equipment:
Design
- Design of protection and control systems;
- Design of SCADA system;
- Settings, fault calculations and relay configurations;
- Design AC & DC auxiliary systems;
- Control cable schedules.
Supply
- 2 x 66kV line protection and control schemes;
- 3 x 66kV Breaker protection and control schemes;
- 2 x 66kV Bus protection scheme;
- 2 x 66/11kV Transformer protection and control schemes;
- 1 x 11kV Back-up Earth Fault scheme;
- 1 x 11kV power quality metering scheme;
- Station Local Alarm Panel;
- Substation DC System;
- Substation AC system.
