Cambridge Zone Substation 33/11kV
Power System Design is currently busy with the design of the new 33/11kV zone substation. The project involves the primary/secondary design for two new 33/11kV transformers and a new 11kV switchboard.
Power System Design has been awarded the contract to design supply and manufacture all protection and control panels including on site commissioning.

The project involves the primary and secondary design for the new 33/11kV substation as follows:
  • 2 x 33kV cable exits;
  • 2 x 33/11kV 20MVA power transformer bays;
  • Provide a Control / Switchgear Building;
  • Establish new 11kV buses and associated 11kV circuit breakers;
  • Establish a new 33/11kV protection and control system.


PSD are responsible for the supply of the following services/equipment:

Design
  • Civil design work - benching; site drainage; control room layout; plant foundations; bunding;
  • Design of structural steel work;
  • Design of power cables;
  • Design of air conditioning;
  • Design of earthing system;
  • Design of protection and control systems;
  • Design of HMI screens and master station configuration;
  • Settings, fault calculations and relay configurations;
  • Design AC & DC auxiliary systems;
  • Control cable schedules;
  • Integrate to existing equipment.


Supply
  • 4 x 33kV cable protection and control schemes;
  • 2 x 33/11kV Transformer protection and control schemes;
  • 1 x Station RTU
  • Station Local Alarm Panel;
  • Substation DC System;
  • Substation AC system.


Testing / Commissioning
  • Complete protection / SCADA FAT and SAT testing
